Intro to data visualization with Tableau

This workshop uses Tableau Public software to introduce data visualization concepts and basic skills. Tableau Public is available at no cost and provides a user interface that is accessible to beginners.

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  1. Recognize the characteristics of an effective visualization
  2. Format data for visualization
  3. Create a simple visualization using Tableau software

To participate fully please follow the pre-workshop setup instructions and install Tableau before the workshop: https://ubc-library-rc.github.io/tableau-intro/. Consider also registering for Designing dashboards with Tableau on April 25, which builds on the skills developed in this workshop.
